Apple Sells Around 10 Million iPhone 16 Units in India, iPhone 17 Sales Could Surge

December 30, 2025 by Harish Reddy Gudi

Apple’s presence in India continues to grow, with the iPhone 16 showing strong sales performance since its launch. Based on available data and market trends, India is shaping up to be one of Apple’s most important growth markets.

iPhone 16 Sales in India (So Far)

According to industry estimates:

  • Apple has sold around 10 million units of the iPhone 16 in India since launch
  • 6.4 million units were sold in the first 11 months of 2025
  • Demand remained strong across both metro cities and emerging markets

This makes the iPhone 16 one of Apple’s most successful recent launches in the country.

What’s Driving Strong Sales

Several factors appear to be contributing to this growth:

  • Increasing local manufacturing in India
  • Better availability across price segments
  • Wider financing and exchange offers
  • Growing demand for premium smartphones

India’s expanding middle class and improving retail reach have also played a key role.

iPhone 17 Sales Outlook (Expectation)

Based on the current sales trend and Apple’s growing momentum in India:

  • Estimated iPhone 17 sales could reach around 25 million units
  • This estimate combines:
    • Sales from the launch year
    • Continued sales through the entire following year

This would mark a significant jump compared to previous iPhone generations in India.

Why iPhone 17 Could Sell Even More

  • Apple’s stronger manufacturing base in India
  • Potential price stability due to local production
  • Rising upgrade cycle among existing iPhone users
  • Increased adoption of premium smartphones

Important Note

  • The iPhone 16 sales figures are based on reported market estimates
  • The iPhone 17 numbers are an expectation, not official data
  • Actual sales may vary depending on pricing, features, and market conditions

If this trend continues, India could soon become one of Apple’s top global iPhone markets.
