Honor Power 2 launched in China with a 10,080mAh battery!

January 7, 2026 by Harish Reddy Gudi

Honor has officially launched the Honor Power 2 in China, and the phone immediately stands out for one reason: a gigantic 10,080mAh battery packed into a relatively slim body. With this launch, Honor is clearly targeting users who value extreme endurance without completely sacrificing modern design and performance.

Display & Visual Experience

Honor hasn’t compromised on the screen despite the huge battery:

  • 6.79-inch OLED LTPS flat display
  • 1.5K resolution (2600 × 1200 pixels)
  • Up to 8000 nits peak brightness
  • 3840Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain
  • Flat panel design for better durability and touch accuracy

This display setup is aimed at users who consume a lot of content, especially outdoors or under bright lighting conditions.

Performance & Software

The Honor Power 2 is built to handle heavy daily use:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset
  • LPDDR5x RAM
  • UFS 4.1 storage
  • Android 16 out of the box
  • MagicOS 10 with system-level optimisations

The combination ensures smooth multitasking, fast app launches, and long-term software efficiency.

Battery, Charging & Endurance

Battery life is the phone’s biggest talking point:

  • 10,080mAh battery
  • 80W fast wired charging
  • 27W reverse wired charging to power accessories or other devices

This setup is designed for:

  • Multi-day usage on a single charge
  • Heavy navigation, gaming, and media streaming
  • Users who want to ditch power banks completely

Despite the huge capacity, the phone maintains a relatively balanced weight and thickness.

Cameras & Audio

Honor keeps the camera setup practical:

  • 50MP main camera with OIS
  • 5MP ultra-wide camera
  • 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls

Additional features:

  • Dual stereo speakers
  • Tuned for clear calls and media playback rather than camera-heavy flagships

Build Quality & Connectivity

The Power 2 is built like a tank:

  • Metal frame
  • In-display fingerprint scanner
  • IP66 / IP68 / IP69 / IP69K ratings
  • Protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure jets

Connectivity highlights:

  • Wi-Fi 6
  • Bluetooth 6.0
  • IR blaster
  • Dual-frequency GPS
  • Tri-frequency Beidou
  • USB-C port
  • Honor C1+ RF chip for improved signal stability

Design & Physical Details

  • Thickness: 7.98mm
  • Weight: 216 grams
  • Slim for a phone with a 10,000mAh+ battery

Colour options:

  • Phantom Black
  • Snowfield White
  • Rising Sun Orange

Price in China

Honor has priced the Power 2 aggressively:

  • 12GB + 256GB: 2,699 CNY (~₹34,850 / ~$385)
  • 12GB + 512GB: 2,999 CNY (~₹38,720 / ~$430)

Why Honor Power 2 Is Important

The Honor Power 2 shows that ultra-large batteries are becoming mainstream. With solid performance, fast charging, a bright OLED display, and extreme durability, it’s aimed squarely at power users, travellers, and anyone tired of charging their phone every night.
