A major breakthrough in energy storage is emerging from China, and it directly targets the biggest pain points of modern batteries: slow charging, short lifespan, and safety risks.

Researchers have developed a graphene-based battery that can fully charge in around five minutes and last up to four times longer than today’s lithium-ion batteries. If this technology scales beyond the lab, it could reshape electric vehicles, consumer electronics, and industrial energy systems.
