Vivo V70 Series Launches in India With Big Battery and Periscope Zoom

February 19, 2026 by Harish Reddy Gudi

Vivo has officially launched the V70 and V70 Elite in India, expanding its mid-premium smartphone lineup with a strong focus on battery life, camera flexibility, and long software support.

Both devices share core hardware, design language, and display technology.
The Elite model introduces a more powerful processor and a few additional premium components.

The strategy is clear: deliver flagship-style features while keeping pricing below traditional flagship territory.

Display remains one of the central upgrades across the lineup.

Key screen details:

  • 6.59-inch AMOLED panel
  • 1.5K resolution (2750×1260)
  • Up to 120Hz refresh rate
  • Peak brightness rated at 5000 nits
  • P3 colour gamut for wider colour reproduction
  • Schott Xensation Core protection

The display targets both media consumption and outdoor visibility, an area increasingly important in the mid-range segment.

Performance differs between the two models, creating clear product separation.

Chipset and memory:

  • Vivo V70 powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for balanced efficiency
  • Vivo V70 Elite uses Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for higher sustained performance
  • LPDDR5X RAM across variants
  • UFS 4.1 storage for faster read and write speeds

This split allows the base model to remain value-focused while the Elite addresses gaming and heavier multitasking.

Battery capacity is one of the biggest highlights.

Power specifications:

  • 6500mAh battery on both devices
  • 90W fast wired charging
  • Designed for extended screen-on time and fewer daily charge cycles

Large battery sizes are becoming a key differentiator in this price segment.

Camera hardware emphasizes versatility.

Camera setup includes:

  • 50MP main camera using Sony IMX766 with optical image stabilisation
  • 8MP ultra-wide camera
  • 50MP periscope telephoto using Sony IMX882 with OIS and zoom range from 3× to extended digital zoom
  • 50MP front camera with autofocus using Samsung JN1

Periscope zoom at this tier signals Vivo’s push toward more flexible photography without flagship pricing.

Software support is positioned as long-term value.

Software policy:

  • Android 16 with OriginOS 6
  • Four years of Android OS upgrades
  • Five years of security updates

Extended support is increasingly a deciding factor for buyers planning multi-year usage.

Additional hardware features include:

  • Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner
  • Dual stereo speakers
  • IP68 water and dust resistance
  • Metal frame with glass back
  • Dual SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR blaster and USB-C

Elite-only enhancements:

  • Colour temperature sensor
  • X-axis linear motor for improved haptics

The standard V70 uses a traditional vibration motor.

Physical design remains slim despite the battery size.

Dimensions and build:

  • Thickness around 7.4mm to 7.59mm depending on colour
  • Weight between 187g and 194g

This suggests internal design optimization to maintain ergonomics.

Pricing positions both devices within the competitive upper mid-range bracket.

Vivo V70 pricing:

  • 8GB + 256GB: ₹45,999
  • 12GB + 256GB: ₹49,999
  • Colours: Passion Red, Lemon Yellow

Vivo V70 Elite pricing:

  • 8GB + 256GB: ₹51,999
  • 12GB + 256GB: ₹56,999
  • 12GB + 512GB: ₹61,999
  • Colours: Authentic Black, Sand Beige, Passion Red

Both phones will be available via Flipkart, Amazon, Vivo online stores, offline retail outlets, and partner channels.

The V70 series reflects a broader shift where mid-range phones now include features once limited to flagships, including periscope zoom, larger batteries, and longer update cycles.

For buyers, the decision largely depends on performance needs.

The V70 focuses on efficiency and value, while the Elite pushes toward premium hardware and sustained performance.
