Google is expanding the reach of Google Photos beyond phones and tablets, and Samsung TVs will be the first to get it. According to the latest details, Google Photos features will start rolling out to Samsung smart TVs in March 2026, bringing personal memories directly to the big screen.
What’s Launching First
Samsung will debut Google Photos on TVs with a feature called “Memories”, which will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for the first six months.
Key details:
- Designed to display curated photo and video memories on TV screens
- Google Photos Memories feature coming to Samsung TVs
- Launch timeline: March 2026
- Samsung-exclusive for six months
How It Works
Once available, users will be able to:
- Sign in with their Google Account on their Samsung TV
- Access their Google Photos library securely
- See personal memories appear automatically on screen
These memories will be displayed through Samsung’s smart TV experiences such as:
- Daily+
- Daily Board
This setup allows the TV to act as a dynamic photo frame, showing meaningful moments when the screen is idle.
More Features Coming Later
Google has confirmed that this is just the beginning. Additional Google Photos features are expected to roll out in the second half of 2026, including:
- Nano Banana integration (Google’s AI-powered photo experience)
- Personalized results, tailored to individual users and viewing habits
These upcoming features are expected to make Google Photos on TVs more interactive and personalized over time.
Why This Matters
- Makes smart TVs more personal and useful beyond streaming
- Turns idle TV screens into memory displays
- Strengthens Samsung’s smart TV ecosystem with Google services
Samsung being the first partner also suggests deeper collaboration between Google and Samsung for future smart TV experiences.
Google has not yet shared when Google Photos will expand to non-Samsung TVs, but wider availability is expected after the exclusivity period ends.
