REDMI Turbo 5 Series Chipsets Leak Ahead of Official Launch

January 2, 2026 by Harish Reddy Gudi

New leaks have surfaced, revealing key hardware details about the upcoming REDMI Turbo 5 series, giving us an early look at the chipsets expected to power these smartphones. While Xiaomi has not officially announced the devices yet, recent certifications and leaks point to two different MediaTek processors for the standard and Pro models.

REDMI Turbo 5 Pro: Expected Chipset

The higher-end model in the lineup is tipped to bring a new and powerful processor:

  • Expected to feature MediaTek Dimensity 9500e
  • Positioned as a performance-focused chipset
  • Likely aimed at:
    • High-end gaming
    • Heavy multitasking
    • Upper mid-range to flagship-level performance

The Dimensity 9500e itself has not been officially announced yet, which makes this leak particularly interesting.

REDMI Turbo 5: Expected Chipset

The standard REDMI Turbo 5 is expected to sit slightly below the Pro variant:

  • Tipped to feature MediaTek Dimensity 8500
  • Designed for:
    • Strong everyday performance
    • Efficient power usage
    • Smooth gaming at mid-range settings

This chipset is also yet to be officially unveiled by MediaTek.

Certification Status

Both devices have reportedly:

  • Cleared China’s 3C certification
  • Certification suggests:
    • Launch preparations are underway
    • Hardware specifications are nearing finalisation
    • Commercial models, not prototypes

3C certification usually appears shortly before a device launch in China.

Why These Chipsets Matter

If the leaks turn out to be accurate:

  • REDMI Turbo 5 Pro could become one of the first phones with the Dimensity 9500e
  • The Turbo 5 series would continue REDMI’s focus on:
    • High performance
    • Competitive pricing
    • Strong gaming credentials

REDMI’s Turbo lineup is traditionally aimed at users who want near-flagship power without premium pricing.

What’s Still Unknown

Several details are still under wraps:

  • Official chipset announcements from MediaTek
  • Display specifications
  • Camera hardware
  • Battery capacity and charging speeds
  • Launch date and pricing

More information is expected as MediaTek unveils the new Dimensity processors.

Expected Positioning

The REDMI Turbo 5 series is likely to:

  • Compete with performance-focused phones from:
    • iQOO
    • Realme
    • OnePlus
  • Target gamers and power users
  • Offer aggressive price-to-performance value

Final Thoughts

Although nothing is official yet, the chipset leaks suggest that REDMI is preparing a serious performance upgrade with the Turbo 5 series. If the Dimensity 9500e and 8500 deliver as expected, these phones could become strong contenders in their respective segments.
