Samsung Smartphone Prices Increased in India From January 5, 2026

January 7, 2026 by Harish Reddy Gudi

Samsung has officially revised the prices of several smartphones in India, with the new rates effective from January 5, 2026. The hike impacts models across the Galaxy A-series and Galaxy F-series, including popular mid-range and budget options.

The updated prices are inclusive of GST and reflect Samsung’s latest pricing strategy amid rising component and manufacturing costs.

Galaxy A56 Price Hike (₹2,000 Increase)

The Galaxy A56 sees the highest revision among the affected models.

  • Galaxy A56 (12GB RAM + 256GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹44,999
    • New price: ₹46,999
  • Galaxy A56 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹41,999
    • New price: ₹43,999
  • Galaxy A56 (8GB RAM + 128GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹38,999
    • New price: ₹40,999

This puts the A56 firmly into a higher mid-range pricing bracket.

Galaxy A36 Price Hike (₹1,500 Increase)

Samsung has also increased prices for all Galaxy A36 variants.

  • Galaxy A36 (12GB RAM + 256GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹36,999
    • New price: ₹38,499
  • Galaxy A36 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹33,999
    • New price: ₹35,499
  • Galaxy A36 (8GB RAM + 128GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹30,999
    • New price: ₹32,499

The A36 now edges closer to premium mid-range competitors.

Galaxy F17 5G Price Hike (₹1,000 Increase)

Even Samsung’s more affordable F-series hasn’t been spared.

  • Galaxy F17 5G (4GB RAM + 128GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹14,499
    • New price: ₹15,499
  • Galaxy F17 5G (6GB RAM + 128GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹15,999
    • New price: ₹16,999
  • Galaxy F17 5G (8GB RAM + 128GB storage)
    • Old price: ₹17,499
    • New price: ₹18,499

This affects buyers looking for entry-level 5G phones under ₹20,000.

Why Samsung Is Raising Prices

While Samsung hasn’t issued a detailed statement, industry trends suggest:

  • Rising memory and storage costs
  • Higher manufacturing and logistics expenses
  • Increased demand for AI-related components

Samsung had earlier hinted that 2026 could see pricing pressure across multiple regions.

What Buyers Should Know

  • The revised prices are official and already in effect
  • Retail discounts may vary by seller
  • Future launches could start at higher base prices

Final Thoughts

Samsung’s January 2026 price hike confirms what many expected: smartphones are getting more expensive. With increases across mid-range and budget models, buyers may need to factor pricing changes into their upgrade plans sooner rather than later.
